Green Matcha Citrus Smoothie
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite smoothie recipes with you. My Green Matcha Citrus Smoothie is packed with tons of vitamins, nutrients, and anti-inflammatory ingredients. The sweet Mango, Banana, and Pineapple balance the bitterness of the Matcha Latte Mix. Fresh Coconut Water, English Cucumber, and Baby Spinach brighten the blend. A twist of Ginger gives this drink a lite spiciness. Top this cold beverage with a swirl of dairy-free Almond Whipped Cream and sprinkle with a pinch of vibrant green Matcha for an extra treat, or leave it green (without whipped cream) for less sugar and fewer calories, yet all of the same health benefits. The choice is up to you!
The Race is On
I’m not the only one in my house that loves this smoothie. I’m not proud of it, but there have been times I’ve had to hide with this smoothie to drink it all myself. Why? Because whenever I pull out a brilliant green mason jar filled to the brim with Green Matcha Citrus Smoothie, the race is on! My four-year-old then uses her smoothie radar to find me wherever I am in the house. She then grabs a brightly colored reusable straw (preferably pink) and places it in my drink. Next, she and I will ‘take turns’ drinking the smoothie – which then becomes a race to get to the bottom of the glass. I usually don’t win this game and have to go make another smoothie. This is why it’s a good idea to make multiples. 😉

Tips for Flavor
Some of these ingredients can be a bit strong, so I wanted to provide the exact types I’ve used in this smoothie to be sure that you get the best results.
- Sweetened Matcha Powder – The matcha powder I use for this recipe has sweetener added. Because of this, I do not add any additional sweeteners to the recipe. If you choose another matcha powder for your smoothie, be sure to add the sweetener of your choice to taste, many matcha powders are bitter and earthy. I use Jade Leaf Organic Matcha Latte Mix (Cafe Style Sweetened Blend). Please use a product that is right for you and your kitchen.
- Minced Ginger – I use Squeeze Ginger to save some time. For this recipe, you can also use fresh ginger, but you may want to use a bit less as fresh ginger will be spicier. (Add to taste) The same goes for Ginger Powder. Be sure the ginger product you’ve chosen doesn’t overpower the formula, as ginger can make the drink quite spicy. Use according to your preference.
- Almond Whip – For this smoothie, I use Reddi-wip Almond Milk Whipped Cream, but I often use So Delicious Coconut Whipped cream as well. Both are great options to boost the flavor of the smoothie. Please use the product that works best for you and your kitchen. However, if you enjoy the bite of the ginger you may want to leave off the whipped cream as it will tone down any spicy ingredients and does add more sugar content.

Storing and Quick Tips
- To make things quick and easy, I love to make this Green Matcha Mango Smoothie in bulk, fill about three mason jars to the brim with the excess smoothie and place it in the fridge for another day.
- This drink keeps wonderfully in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. You may need to shake or mix if the beverage begins to separate after sitting for long periods. For this purpose, I will wait to top it with whipped cream just before serving.
- You can store smoothie ingredients in the freezer in an air-tight container for up to 3 months. This trick is fantastic for enjoying the smoothies again and again throughout your week with little or no effort given.

One of the best smoothies ever! A lot of times when I look up smoothie recipes that claim to be so good I end up disappointed after making them because they taste bland and unbalanced or just plain nasty. But not with this smoothie! It was super refreshing and energizing and yet soothing at the same time, and you managed to balance the flavors of many raw, healthy ingredients into one perfect taste. I’ve finally found a smoothie recipe that I would make again!
Thank you SO much Nadya for your review on my recipe and for your kind words! I am so honored that you tried my smoothie recipe, and overjoyed to be able to share this recipe with you! You are a treasure – Have a blessed day! 🙂
